  1. How can I enrol in Membership Rewards?
    Enrolling is easy, you can do this by clicking on "Enrol Today" on the Membership Rewards home page americanexpress.co.uk/rewards or simply call the Membership Rewards team on 01273 863 863.
  2. How many points must I have to claim a reward?
    Rewards start from 500 points.
  3. Do Membership Rewards points expire?
    No. Unlike many other schemes your Membership Rewards points have no expiration date, so you can save them for higher value rewards like flights or holidays. But please remember that they are forfeited upon cancellation of your American Express Card.
  4. How can I earn points more quickly?
    Use your Card for everyday purchases and your points will rapidly increase. Supplementary Cards for your family will also add to your balance and look out for our frequent special offers on your statement or online.
  5. If I don’t have quite enough points for a reward, is it possible to buy them?
    Yes. Many Cardmembers top up their balance to take advantage of our higher value rewards. You can buy points at a rate of £15 per 1,000, up to a limit of 10,000 per year. Terms & Conditions Apply.
  6. My wife has her own card. Is it possible to pool our points?
    Yes. You can gift your points or receive them from other Cardmembers. It costs £15 per transaction but there is no limit to the number of points you can gift.
  7. Which airlines can I choose?
    You can transfer your Membership Rewards points into any of the 11 frequent flyer programmes introduced by Virgin Atlantic Flyingclub; bmi diamond club; Continental Airlines OnePass, Delta SkyMiles, SN Brussels Airlines, MilleMiglia Club Alitalia, Navigator TAP Air Portugal or Flying Blue. You can also redeem your points for a one-off flight with flybe or PGA Portugália.
  8. Which hotel groups can I choose?
    You can transfer your Membership Rewards points into one of five frequent guest programmes introduced by Hilton HHonors ®, Priority Club ® Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest and Sofitel - Accor Hotels, Goldpoints Plus SM and Resorts. This gives you access to over 5,000 hotels around the world.
    You can also stay two nights for the price of one at De Vere Hotels and redeem for hotel vouchers at The Oberoi Group, Hôtels Barrière, Sol Meliá, Kempinski and Occidental.
  9. Can I link my Membership Rewards account to a partner frequent traveller programme?
    If you belong to a participating airline or hotel programme you can either call the Membership Rewards team on 01273 863 863 to transfer your points or link them online. You can link accounts anytime and there is no limit to the number of partners you can link with. Please allow 14 days for us to verify your account or to enrol.
  10. How long will it take to receive my Reward?
    Redemptions for merchandise normally take up to 10 working days to arrive.
  11. How long does it take to transfer points to a frequent flyer or hotel frequent guest account?
    Provided you are already enrolled and your accounts are linked we can normally complete a points transfer within five working days.
  12. If I want to book a flight or hotel, who do I call first?
    Call the airline or hotel first to check availability. Phone numbers can be found on the airline and hotel partner pages. Tell the reservation agent that you intend to pay with your Membership Rewards points or with a Membership Rewards voucher so that he or she can check the relevant availability. Once you have confirmed availability, call the Membership Rewards team.
  13. Can I switch my points back to Membership Rewards once I have transferred them to a frequent traveller programme or exchanged them for a reward?
    No. Once points have been exchanged for a reward the points cannot be converted back into your Membership Rewards account.
  14. How long does it take to receive a Membership Rewards voucher?
    Your voucher will arrive seven working days after you request it.
  15. Can any other of my American Express Cards be linked to my Membership Rewards account?
    Yes. Any Supplementary Card you take out on your account for a partner or member of the family is automatically linked to your account and will earn you points whenever it is used*. To benefit, apply now for a Supplementary Card and start earning points for virtually every pound that the supplementary Cardmember spends on the Card. In addition, you can link any other eligible American Express Cards you hold (such as an American Express Credit Card) to your Membership Rewards account by calling the Membership Rewards team on 01273 863 863.
  16. Can my reward be delivered on a Saturday?
    Most of our Partners only deliver Monday to Friday - however if you wish to ask about a specific partner, just call the Membership Rewards team.
  17. Do you offer a gift wrapping service?
    Unfortunately this service is not available.
  18. How do I keep up to date with the latest Membership Rewards offers and news?
    If you give us your email address we will be able to keep you informed on the latest Membership Rewards news and exclusive offers. Go to the Membership Rewards home page americanexpress.co.uk/rewards and click on "Sign up for Exclusive Offers".
  19. How do I keep track of my points?
    Every month you will receive a Membership Rewards statement with your Card statement. This shows the number of points you have accumulated in your account and the points you have redeemed. Alternatively you can now view your points level online.
  20. How do I redeem my points?
    Redeeming your points is as easy as earning them. First, select a reward from the many on offer. Then go online or call the Membership Rewards team on 01273 863 863. It is possible to redeem most products online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The telephone lines are open between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am and 1pm on Saturdays. You will need to quote your Membership Rewards account or Card number and the reward code, which you will find next to the description of the reward

*Points are not earned on Balance Transfers, Cash Advances, American Express Traveller's Cheques purchases, Foreign Exchange, Express Cash transactions or any other account charges, fees/charges, including joining, annual Card fees and Membership Rewards fees.
