Q: What do I need to do to join CPS?
A: If your Client has nominated you to be one of their Preferred Suppliers on their CPS programme, you may join CPS by printing off an application form from the sign up page and returning it, fully completed, to American Express at the following address (no stamp required):

Q: How long will it take to set up?
A: It usually takes American Express about three days from receipt of the forms to set you up as a Supplier on our systems and issue your Merchant Number, User-Name and Passwords via e-mail. Once you receive this you will be able to access the PaymentLink Online tool and start doing business through CPS.

Q: What is PaymentLink Online?
A: PaymentLink Online is the tool that enables you to submit transaction data with CPS and simplify your electronic invoicing process. There are 3 different versions of the tool for you to choose from - Standard, Enhanced and Premium - one to suit your business whatever its size and needs.

PaymentLink Online is designed specifically for business-to-business transactions. The tool allows cost-centre numbers and Purchase Order numbers to be added to the standard transactional data - so you and your Clients are always informed. Upon receipt of an order from your Client, you should enter the details onto PaymentLink Online and obtain authorisation from American Express. This authorisation means payment for that order is guaranteed and you can despatch the goods.

Q: Who should I contact for support?
A: Our CPS Customer Service Team will take you through your first transaction over the telephone and address any concerns you may have. Please call (01273) 607 000 Option 4 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: American Express charge a service fee on each transaction (please call 01273 607000 Option 4 for further details) and there is a separate fee for the PaymentLink Online tool. Details of these costs can be found in the PaymentLink Online comparison table. There are no additional set-up or transactional fees.
